Worship and Liturgies at Saint Christopher’s
Sunday Morning Eucharist
Our primary Liturgy is the Celebration of Holy Communion each Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. Our services follow the order from the Book of Common Prayer, 1979, and includes Hymns and Songs. All Baptized Christians are welcome to receive communion each Sunday.
Wednesday Evening Worship
There are several liturgies that form part of our Wednesday Worship offerings.
Mid-Week Eucharist
On most Wednesday evenings, at 5:30 p.m., have join together for a brief Mass in the Church. The Congregation sits in the Chancel area near the Altar. It is a short, yet intimate service, lasting about 35-40 minutes.
Healing Services
One the First Wednesday Evening of the Month, we offer a Service of Healing, with the Anointing of the Sick. We also offer prayers for our friends and loved ones who are ill or infirmed in body, mind or spirit. This service typically takes place in the context of a Eucharistic liturgy
Evening Prayer
Several times a year, we offer the simple service of Evening Prayer. Born out of the monastic tradition of the Liturgy of the Hours, this service forms part of the Daily Office, the cycle of daily prayers said in the Episcopal Church. This services focuses on hearing the Scripture read, reciting the Psalms, and provides a quiet time for the congregation to offer their own prayers, both spoken and silently, to Almighty God.
Feast Days and Special Services
Our Calendar of Feasts, Festival and Fast Days riches our Anglican Tradition a rich repository of services and opportunities to come together and worship our Lord Jesus Christ. These include, among others:
Holy Week, when we remember the Passion, Death and Resurrection of our Blessed Lord
Epiphany, and other events of significance in our Lord earthly life
Saints’ Days, like our own Saint Christopher, we when remember them and also learn from their lives and examples
Fast Days, when we call to mind our utter dependance on God
A schedule of these services are provided for in our “Events” page, which will also include a brief description of the services. All are always welcome to come and attend any of these.
